This Privacy Policy describes how Splitwin (“we”, “our”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application and related services. We take privacy seriously, especially because Splitwin helps people record shared expenses and balances.
1. Information we collect
We collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, profile photo, groups, members, expenses, balances, settlements, currencies, notes, and other data you enter to track shared spending. We may also collect basic technical information needed to operate the app, such as device identifiers, language and region, app version, crash diagnostics, and fraud-prevention signals.
2. How we use information
We use your information to operate the app, sync your data across devices, enable shared groups and balances with people you invite, provide account support, deliver rewarded ads where applicable, manage Splitoo rewards and purchases, diagnose problems, protect the service, and improve the experience. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Ads and financial data
Splitwin may show advertising, including rewarded ads. Advertising helps support the app and keep core features accessible. Ad providers may receive limited technical and advertising information, such as advertising identifiers, device information, IP address, approximate location derived from network information, and ad interaction events.
We do not share your expense details, group names, balances, settlement records, member lists, notes, receipts, or other financial data with ad networks or other third parties for advertising or marketing. Your shared expense data is used to provide Splitwin features, not to build third-party advertising profiles.
4. Data storage
Your data is stored using third-party cloud infrastructure. These providers process data only to help us operate the app. While we take reasonable steps to protect it, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You use the service at your own risk.
5. Sharing with other users
When you join or create a group, the members you invite will see your display name, photo, and the expenses, balances, and settlements that are relevant to that group. Be mindful of what you share inside groups.
6. Third-party services
We rely on third-party providers to operate the app. These providers help with authentication and sign-in, cloud hosting and database storage, analytics and product usage measurement, crash and performance reporting, advertising delivery and measurement, and purchase processing.
These providers may receive only the information needed to perform their function. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies and is outside our control. You can usually limit ad personalisation and tracking through your device settings.
7. Your choices
You can edit or delete data inside the app where supported. You can also request account deletion from the account settings page. To request help or a copy of your data, contact us at the email below.
8. Children
The service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
